Resident Agencies

Elmira

The Elmira Resident Agency is responsible for coverage of all FBI investigative matters within a five county territory. The counties include Steuben, Chemung, Seneca, Schuyler, and Yates with a population of one quarter million people. The major employers within the Elmira office's territory include three state correctional facilities, Corning, Inc., and various health care facilities throughout the five county region. The Elmira office works with all levels of law enforcement, with the office's primary liaison entities being the New York State Police and each respective county's local sheriff department.

Jamestown

The Jamestown Resident Agency (JRA) is located in the Federal Building, Room 241, Prendergast & East 3rd Streets, Jamestown, New York 14701, office number 716-484-7085, facsimile number 716-487-2169. The JRA investigates matters within all of the FBI's jurisdiction in the counties of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany. The JRA also has investigative responsibilities within the territorial boundaries of the Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Cuba Lake reservations of the Seneca Nation of Indians. The JRA enjoys close working relationships with the New York State Police, three county sheriffs' offices, and all of the many local law enforcement agencies within the JRA territory.
