Today, Special Agent in Charge Laurie J. Bennett of the FBI’s Buffalo Office, announces she will host an “FBI 100th Anniversary Kickoff Breakfast” in celebration of “Law Enforcement Appreciation Month.” The breakfast will take place at 8:45 AM tomorrow, Friday, May 2, 2008, at a Country Club located at 4949 Sheridan Drive, Williamsville, New York. Members of local, state, and other federal law enforcement agencies as well as many community leaders will be in attendance to take part in the festivities. The media is welcome to attend and film this event. The Assistant Director of the FBI’s Office of Public Affairs, John J. Miller, will serve as the keynote speaker at tomorrow’s breakfast celebration. FBI Director Robert S. Mueller appointed AD Miller to his current position in September 2005. Prior to working at the FBI, AD Miller served as the Bureau Chief for the Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CTCIB) for the Los Angeles Police Department (LKAPD). Before that AD Miller served as the Deputy Police Commissioner of New York City, and was the chief spokesman for the NYPD under then-Commissioner William Bratton. Before his move to Los Angeles, AD Miller served as a correspondent and anchor for ABC news. He began his career in journalism in 1973 at QNEW in New York. AD Miller is the recipient of a number of prestigious awards including two Peabody Awards, a DuPont Award, and nine Emmys.
