Today, Laurie J. Bennett, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau
of Investigation (FBI), Rex Rater, Chief of Police, Jamestown, New York,
Police Department; and Joseph Gerace, Sheriff, Chautauqua County Sheriff's
Office will present reward money to two citizens who located the remains
of Yolanda Bindics.
Yolanda
Bindics was last seen on August 10, 2004, at 8:20PM leaving her place
of employment, the Family Dollar Store on Fluvanna Avenue in Jamestown,
New York. She was reported missing the next morning. On the evening
of August 11, 2004, her vehicle was discovered abandoned at the Arby's
Restaurant on Fluvanna Avenue in Jamestown, New York, approximately
one-half mile from the Family Dollar Store.
On September 10, 2006, David G. Morgan and Michelle K. Fauth were walking
in a heavily forested area in Chautauqua County and discovered skeletal
remains. Morgan and Fauth immediately notified the Chautauqua County
Sheriff's Office. This prompted a response by FBI Buffalo's Evidence
Response Team and the Chautauqua County Forensic Identification Team.
The remains were later positively identified as those of Yolanda Bindics.
