MEDIA RELEASE

Today, Laurie J. Bennett, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Buffalo Field Office, Christine M. Ziemba, Chief of Police, Cheektowaga, New York Police Department, and H. McCarthy Gipson, Commissioner, Buffalo, New York Police Department announce the arrest of Kollin R. King, a 26 year old male who resides in Hamburg, New York.

King will be charged with violating Title 18 United States Code Section 2422 (b) - coercion and enticement of minors to engage in inappropriate sexual activity. A federal search warrant was executed by the FBI and members of its Cyber Task Force at King's residence immediately following his arrest. King will be arraigned today before United States Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder, Jr.

Mr. King's illegal activities were uncovered by the Cheektowaga, New York Police Department. They immediately brought this activity to the attention of the FBI Cyber Task Force which also had a pending investigation on this matter. The FBI's Buffalo Cyber Task Force Innocent Images initiative targets online child predators.

This matter will be prosecuted under the direction of Terrence P. Flynn, United States Attorney for the Western District of New York. The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

This investigation continues.
