The CDC's Office also maintains liaison with the United States Department of Justice, the local and state and federal judiciary, and other members of other local, state and federal law enforcement, legal and legislative communities.

Ethics

  • Rigorous obedience to the Constitution of the United States.

  • Respect for the dignity of all those we protect.

  • Compassion.

  • Fairness.

  • Uncompromising personal integrity and institutional integrity.

  • Accountability by accepting responsibility for our actions and decisions and the consequences of our actions and decisions.

  • Leadership, both personal and professional.

  • ASSET SEIZURE & FORFEITURE

The mission of the Asset Forfeiture Program is to seize and forfeit property under civil and criminal statutes of the United States. Criminal activity motivated by greed frequently results in the acquisition of material goods. The ability of the Government to forfeit property connected with criminal activity can be an effective law enforcement tool in such cases, because it materially affects the motivation that resulted in the illegal conduct. Some of the more common violations resulting in forfeiture of assets include drug-related offenses, sexual exploitation of children, counterfeiting matters, copyright matters, illegal gambling and money laundering.
