MAN CHARGED WITH TWO BANK ROBBERIESRochester, N.Y.– David Harrington, Rochester, NY, was charged by a federal grand jury today with bank robbery by intimidation, bank larceny, and entering a bank with intent to commit a felony therein, announced U.S. Attorney Terrance P. Flynn of the Western District of New York. The robbery charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Marangola stated the indictment alleges that on August 28, 2007, the defendant robbed the Community Bank at 150 West Market Street, Corning New York, of approximately $7,884. The indictment further alleges that on January 17, 2008, the defendant robbed the Community Bank at 401 North Franklin Street, Watkins Glen, New York, of approximately $12,500. The indictment was the culmination of an investigation on the part of the FBI, under the direction Laurie J. Bennett, Special Agent In Charge, New York State Police, Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office. The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
