Date: JULY 17, 2007 ELMIRA MAN SENTENCED IN CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASEROCHESTER, N.Y.-- John R. Maggese, 45, of Elmira, New York, who was convicted of a felony charge of possession of child pornography on Feb. 20, 2007, was sentenced to 48 months in prison, a $500 fine, and 10 years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge David G. Larimer, U.S. Attorney Terrance P. Flynn of the Western District of New York announced today. Assistant U.S. Attorney
Tiffany H. Lee, who handled the case, stated that the defendant had been
convicted of possession of child pornography. Between July 2003 through
August 2005, the defendant possessed images of child pornography on a
computer he owned. He had received these images over the internet. Some
of the child pornography images depicted prepubescent minors or minors
under twelve years old.
